The Game of Game Creation
What if half (or more) of the fun of playing a video game were creating it as you play it? Take a look at this demonstration from Electronic Arts, shared in the middle of 2024.
The key piece here is that using natural language input, you are able to “program” a new video game. This is a progression of other generative AI, from creating text, to images, to movies, to this.
What words did the players in the demo use to make the world of the game more complex?
What other kinds of games do you imagine you could build? How would you adjust your wording in order to make that world as detailed as possible?
With new advances in generative AI technology, your ability to choose your words carefully is arguably as valuable a tool as programming skills for creating all sorts of things.
