What We Don’t See
Has one of your friends ever started acting strangely, and you had no idea why?
We all have moments where something we feel we cannot share affects us in powerful ways, and the people we know the best might be the ones who are most confused when these moments happen.
Take a look at this award-winning animated film from Brazil about a boy and an umbrella.
Can you imagine what happened that may have led the father to bring the boy to the house in the story? Is the father’s story another one that people may not see when they look at him?
Everyone around you carries a story that you likely will never know. Patience is one tool you have. Use patience to react to someone else in a way that might be helpful, rather than in a way that deepens pain.
(This is the last NVIV post before the Next Vista team takes its summer break, but we’ll start these again in August. Have a good vacation!)
