Audience and Expectations
Is it more powerful for a performer to give an audience what it expects, or to do something different?
In this video from 2CELLOS covering the song Thunderstruck, there is the music, and there is the visual story of the audience in the room.
Why does the audience react as it does? What are the actors playing the roles of audience members supposed to convey to us? Who benefits from that?
In thinking of a performance which surprised you in some way, what makes it memorable? Can that be both good and bad?
