Time, Lines, and Two Lists
One great way to make certain complex things in school easier is to think about what you encounter in multiple ways.
An obvious way to watch Drawing Detective Pikachu is to list several things you learn about drawing as you watch the timelapse.
While watching the video, though, try making a second list. This list includes whatever you think you learn from the video that is about anything other than art.
Were you able to come up with at least two or three items on each list?
Once you have something, trade lists with others in the room, and come up with your favorite observations from others. Why do you like those takeaways?
You can practice this with any video you watch or short item you read. One list is what you learn about the topic, and the other is what you learn about everything that isn’t that topic. Just like with the drawing, you get better and better at it the more you practice.
